FEES & REBATES

FEES:

The Australian Psychological Society sets guidelines for fees for psychological services. As of July 2016, the standard rate recommended for a one hour appointment is $241.00.

Our fees are less than this:

A standard 50-60-minute therapy appointment is $200.

A standard 25 -30 minute appointment is $110 – $120.

Fees and appointment lengths alter slightly for other services such as initial 3-hour assessments for educational and intellectual assessments, and report-writing. Please contact us for more information about these services.

CANCELLATIONS:

48 hours notice must be given to cancel an appointment. If this does not occur it is the clinics policy to charge a cancellation fee. The fee for less than 24 hours notice is a full fee and between 24 and 48 hours it is a half consultation fee.

REBATES:

Rebates for psychological services are available from several sources including:

Medicare

Under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health scheme you can obtain a rebate for up to 10 therapy sessions in each calendar year. To be eligible to receive the rebate you must visit your GP, Psychiatrist, or Paediatrician and obtain a referral for psychological services as part of your overall treatment plan (also known as a ‘2710’ form). All of our psychologists are registered as specialist Medicare providers and can therefore pass on the full Medicare rebate. As of November 2014, the rebate is $124.50 per session for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. If you have reached your Medicare ‘safety net’ threshold for the calendar year, the rebate will be much more than this.

Private Health Funds

Most private health funds provide rebates for psychological services depending upon your level of cover. Please contact your health fund to find out more.

Other Claims – CTP, Work Cover & LTC

If you have been referred for psychological services in relation to a Worker’s Compensation Matter or a Third Party Insurer for a Motor Vehicle Accident, the fee will be paid by the insurer.
